October, 2007 - Babymoon
Charles and I spent almost three weeks in France. We stayed in Paris for a few days at the beginning and end of our trip. We spent most of our time in Bordeaux and the medieval village of Sarlat-en-Caneda.

These are the photos from our vacation to Maui. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Kapalua. The sunset photos are from the Napili Bay Beach which was absolutely beautiful.
January, 2006 - San Francisco, California
I was invited to Googleplex in Mountain View for the Google Workshop for Women Engineers. While we were in Silicon Valley, Charles and I had a chance to do some wine tasting on the Santa Cruz wine trail.

We started out the year with a snowboarding trip to Vail, Colorado.

July, 2005 - Zion National Park
Charlie and I went on a hiking trip to the Zion National Park. We both love the backcountry. Our favorite hikes include the "Angels Landing" trail, the "Hidden Canyon" trail, and the "Emerald Pools" trail.
July, 2005 - Trip to Las Vegas
These are the photos from our trip to Las Vegas for the HCI International 2005 conference. I presented one of my research papers at the "Methods & Technologies for Personalized and Adaptive Web Interaction" session of the conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction. The conference was held at the Caesars Palace Hotel.

June 27th, 2004 - Harbor Lights Triathlon
This triathlon was earlier in the season this year. This was a Sprint distance triathlon consisting of a 600 meter swim, 21K bike ride, and 6.4K run. The swim distance was shortened from 800 meters to 600 meters due to the 60 degree water temperature!
June, 2004 - Planting Our Garden
The following were planted in the garden: sunflowers, beans, red peppers, green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, egg plants, thyme, basil, lavendar, cilantro!
June, 2004 - Creating Our Garden
Charles and I created a raised garden box in our back yard. It took approximately 180 bricks to build the retaining wall including the foundation.
February, 2004 - Innsbruck, Austria
These photos are from our trip to Innsbruck. I presented one of my papers at the IASTED conference on Artificial Intelligence and Applications.
November, 2003 - Cancun, Mexico
These photos are from our trip to Cancun, Mexico. We stayed at the Riu Cancun and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
September 13th, 2003 - Lake Geneva Triathlon
Charles and I competed in the 15th annual Lake Geneva Extreme Triathlon. We did the sprint distance.
August, 2003 - Delaware Water Gap
These photos are from our trip to Philadelphia. We went on a canoeing adventure on the Delaware Water Gap. We spent two nights camping on the river and paddled a total distance of approximately 36 miles.
July 20th, 2003 - Harbor Lights Triathlon
Charles and I completed the Harbor Lights Triathlon. The race was held on the edge of Lake Michigan, at Waukegan, Illinois. It was a Sprint distance triathlon consisting of a 1/2 mile swim, 14 mile bike ride, and 4 mile run.
June, 2003 - Trip to Las Vegas
My sister and I were in Las Vegas from June 22 until June 27. I attended the 2003 International Multiconference in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. I presented a paper on my research project at the IC'03 which was a part of the multiconference. The conference was held at the Monte Carlo Resort in Las Vegas.
June 15, 2003 - Yigit Sahinoglu Graduation
Yigit received his MBA from the College of Commerce at DePaul University. The graduation ceremony was held at the All State Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on June 15, 2003.
May, 2003 - Trip to San Diego
Charles and I took a long weekend trip to sunny San Diego. Our friend Dave showed us all of the beautiful sights of the city. We had a wonderful time!
January, 2003 - Trip to Copper Mountain
Randy, Tiffany, Charles, and I drove out to Colorado on New Year's day. We had three fun days of snowboarding at Copper Mountain.
December, 2002 - Sieg Snow fort
Charles and Randy built their traditional snow fort on Christmas Day. They claim this one as being their biggest ever capable of housing seven people. It included two rooms connected with a hallway. You could almost stand up in it!
December, 2002 - Cruise to the Bahamas
Charles and I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas in December. Our ship departed from Miami, Florida. We arrived at Miami one day prior to our departure. We spent our day in Miami walking on South Beach and exploring Ocean Drive. In the evening, we had dinner on Lincoln Road, which is a very touristic area with a variety of shops and restaurants. We boarded the Majesty of the Seas the next day around 2:00pm. Our stateroom was small but very cozy. We even had an ocean view through our porthole. The ship sailed through the night and arrived at Nassau, Bahamas early in the morning. We had a very pleasant day at Nassau. The stop for the following day was CocoCay, which is a private island owned by Royal Caribbean. The island was very beautiful but a bit windy. We spent a few hours in the morning at the island and spent our afternoon by the pool on the ship. On the following day, the ship docked at Key West, Florida. We walked on Duval Street and visited the Southernmost point in the continental USA. Overall, our cruise experience was a blast! The food and the service on the ship were excellent. We especially enjoyed our dinners. We shared a table with a Russian couple from San Francisco, California and a Lebanese couple from Detroit, Michigan. They were a lot of fun. After our cruise, we stayed in Miami Beach two more days. We also visited Bal Harbor.

Spring, 2002 - Honeymoon
We started our honeymoon on March 24th and returned home on May 24th. During that time we went to Turkey, Italy, Switzerland, France, and Hawaii.

Spring, 2002 - Wedding
Charles and I were married on March 23, 2002. Our wedding ceremony was held in the Grand Lobby of the Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois. The ceremony was followed by a reception and dinner on the 99th floor of the Sears Tower. On March 29, 2003, we had a second wedding reception in Istanbul, Turkey for our Turkish extended family and friends.
